At last I am starting my Router Table project =D> . I need feather boards & track and wondered if these would be suitable.

If anybody has alternative product advice/information it would be appreciated :) .

The table will be 800 x 600, I will set the Router central in the 800 dimension, what would be the best position for the centre of the cutter and the position of the track relative to the cutter from the front or back (600 dimension) :?: .

I have a home made router table 600mm deep and I have set the cutter 225mm from the front edge which works fine for me.

On our workshop Incra table the cutter is 300mm from the front edge and 170mm from the centre of the track.

We carry the widest range of genuine Incra products in the Uk and also more specialist products from WoodPecker.

If you are looking for track you can go on my tool shop Wood Workers Workshop and search on track or go into brands, Incra and most of the track is on the second page.

We usually stock WoodPecker Variable Pressure Featherboards and JessEm Clear Cut Stock Guides but are out of stock of both at present should be back in about the next 4 weeks.

If you need any more advice please give us a call.

Cheers Peter

My "homemade" router table uses a Woodpecker top and insert ( bought from the previous owners of WWW) sitting on a Norm's design base.
The Woodpecker stuff is really good.

why pay £40 for featherboards you can make out of scrap wood?

However the track you linked, I've bought and is very good quality, very straight and well machined.

Home made feather boards are easy to make and just as effective as mentioned. I've also never found a need for installing a track on mine, instead I use small home made sleds if necessary sliding against the fence (so no need to mess around trying to ensure the fence is parallel to the track each time you adjust the fence), and pressure against the fence is applied using push sticks/pads if not needing to use a sled to maintain an angle.

Cheers, Paul
