Currently have aeg ex150es ( clone of the mighty metabo sxe 450 )
It's a damn good sander I must say and takes stock off super fast and leaves a great finish, got it used £40 so well pleased with it..
Except for one thing- the damn dust! Its maybe catching 25% of the dust in its dust bag the rest goes awol in the room and after 3mins sanding I'm in a huge dust cloud.

was wondering if there are sanders which can collect most of the dust yet doesn't needs a dust extractor? I have got good dust/chip extractor for my Planer/thicknesser however it's damn loud and would not want to use with one! I suppose there aren't any quiet dust extractors in market anyway?

Btw would abranet help in any way with dust collection while using without any dust extractor since there are just the 6holes through which dust are caught for my sander and they fully utilized I think with the regular sandpaper anyway for my machine? or am I wrong and it would catch more dust?

Abranet may help a bit, but as soon as the dust bag is a bit full, the effectiveness of the tools fan will be impaired as the outlet pressure increases.

Fine dust needs a vacuum type extractor, either one with a power tool take off, or use a master / slave switch then you can use a henry or similar.

Before you ditch that sander I would definitely try it hooked up to a shop vac/henry/whatever you have.

I was shocked at the difference it made going from the dust bag to using a cheap Parkside vac when I tried with my belt sander.

well this is just weird, I placed a thick blanket on work table and it did the following
-made the sander a lot more quiet as no vibration against work table
-you don't have to clamp down the piece as it doesn't really moves while sanding anymore
-much much much less dust went airborne and the blanket collected lots of dust as well
-and you can stop the sander super fast when done sanding by just placing it on blanket
