I would like to divide a large room,would like something in wood

Do you have a style in mind? What is the decor like now? Do you want a heavy timber wall or maybe a light shoji screen? Will it be fixed in place or movable? If the latter, where would you store it when it isn't dividing the room? How big is the room? How long and high would the divider need to be? Could it be thick like a book case or thin?

Dave, the room is an open plan approx 31' x14' wide, must reach to ceiling- don't want to enclose completely but totally confused as to what thickness etc.

treena use 3x2 studding screwed to the floor wall and ceiling and skin with plaster board .
