You'll have noticed by now the bottom picture showing the larger on swing irons. Some info on them. The little red rocker is lime body and the base is oak with the turned posts made from an old oak post.
The larger one is indeed the medium size. made of Tulipwood/american poplar with the base being selected quarter sawn english oak. On this one I used oilite bushes cut down to suit, baked in the oven to remove excess oil then pressed home into the swing rails. Never squeaks and minimal wear.
For those who think specialist tools planers etc are needed...I did both these with a black and decker circular saw, to cut to size, no mean feat with a 10 foot x 3"x12" board, and hand planed all wood to size with an old stanley with standard blade. Mind you my hands were numb for a week. It was what decided me to invest in a planer/thicknesser.
Thanks all for the kind remarks
Alan
