I think that a lot of people will feel indebted to him for the knowledge he dispensed in The Essential Woodworker.

RIP and condolences to his family.
 
I certainly owe him a debt of gratitude. It is from him that I learned the value of jigs, and that was the mainstay of my writing career, really.

I agree, he was a good teacher.
To anyone new to woodworking, I'd say, don't dismiss the Lost Art Press enthusiasm as just hype - his books deserve to be easily available to all.
 
his book the essential woodworker is my favourite woodworking book so far, there is so much gold in it, what a sad loss RIP, but at least he lived a long life.
 
I will have a look at my collection of his books this evening.
No matter how often I read them I find something new.

I bought all of mine second hand via amazon. They are or where, very cheap.
