Picked up a "kit" for a coffee table yesterday - £30.

Started life as a kitchen table about 3' by 4', been cut down to coffee table height.

Was once painted white and looks as if it has been chemically stripped, with residues of white paint in places.

And to round things off, been left outside in the sun and rain for a few months!

Now, I understand that I can revive the wood with something like Osmo 6609 Wood Reviver, which appears to be Oxalic Acid in a gel formulation.

But how do I finish the wood after revival? The surface is still going to be reasonably rough so something with a good levelling ability sounds necessary - what would we suggest?

I'm not going to begin work on this until early next year, after my chemo has ended and I've hopefully recovered my Mojo, so there's plenty of time for me to get those warped tops flattened!

Martin.
