My neighbour built his Oak frame house about eight years ago and he has had some ingress of water around the porch and sun room, the water has left some ugly brown stains on the uprights. As with any other Oak framed house the Oak was green when used and has never had any finish applied. Any ideas on how or if these can be removed?
Thanks in advance.
Andy

Having lived in three barns so far, I would say:

The stains will tone down after time
Bleaching as above helps
Stains will recur if there is any water ingress - fix that first

Thanks AJ, I have been fixing some strips with drip grooves on the places where the water has been entering so hopefully that has been sorted, no doubt they will be tested soon but had no idea how to remove the stains.
