A couple of cart wheels Im busy with at the moment. The old wheels have been cut down and new tenons put on the spokes to take the new felloes (rim) . Next the old steel tyres will to rebent to fit the new size and will be fitted hot and rapidly cooled to go on tight

How much did you cut down the wheels? Was the spoke and hub wood still in good shape? I've made a few wooden wheels for wheelbarrows, but they were pretty primitive. I have a book on wheelwrighting to use the next time I build one.

They were cut down by about ten inches Kirk as they will be getting used on a different type of vehicle which requires a smaller wheel.
The naffs (hubs) and the spokes were in pretty good condition given the age of the wheels
I originally learnt wheelmaking from a guy up in Moscow a little town in Idaho
