Hi,

Just bought a new 48T 30mm bore circular saw blade to give a finer cut than the standard 24T 20mm bore blade supplied. It came with reduction rings.

Unfortunately the back nut that sits on the spindle behind the blade is exactly the same diameter as the bore of the new blade so tightening the locking nut just pops out the reduction ring and sends the blade clattering down the spindle.

Photo below.

I know there's more choice of blades with larger bores/reduction rings but, in this instance, is there any alternative to sourcing a blade with a smaller bore?

Thanks for any advice.

if your asking if you can use that blade with that saw?

then the answer is no, you maybe be able to come up with a clamp plate but it wouldn't be worth the hassle!

you can get track saw blades on ebay pretty cheap

I had this exact problem when I wanted to get some new blades for my track saw, the cheapest all had 30mm bores and I ran into the same trouble. In the end I just had to buy the slightly more expensive blades that had the correct 20mm bore.
