Hi guys, New to site found this forum googling that vice number as I've just bought one on ebay ready for a new bench I'm going to make :) Looking at another forum here , now established it an old record vice with a round knob! Problem is when I pull open quick release only the shaft comes out, the front vice does not come out with it ...have I got some part Missing ? Appreciate any help or images if u same vice

Hi Pete thanks for speedy reply , sorry should have mentioned its a wood working vice not bench ....but u have pointed me in right direction think it might be some sort of castellated nut ? ... Found someone selling record trigger spring and nut - but out of stock, but be good if anyone can confirm I'm trying to find the correct spare ? !

Before you go shopping have you confirmed that part is broken or missing? If the gubbins underneath are caked in oily sawdust it can affect the proper operation of a vice, including the quick-release mechanism, so first order of business is to give the moving parts a good clean.

Scroll the page down. :) if it's what Pete thinks it is it can be replaced by a cotter pin or a nail.
