It's a shame the scumbags and so-called "street artists" have gotten in there. That place should have been turned into a proper museum and training workshop.

There are loads of these type of photos floating the net its called urban exploring check out www.28dayslater.com try searching for Stanley, George Barnsleys and Record Marples. I have been to the old Stanley works in Sheffield we just walked right in, the front door was open. Gets quite addictive really all the history of the buildings more so with Geore Barnsleys as up until a year or so ago it was still the same as the day they closed the doors, tools, paperworks the lot.

I've been to the TVR works in Blackpool and Jensen in West Bromwich. The TVR place was open, abandoned, but no hint of graffiti.

Most of the time the explorers get in first then the artists after, you can loose hours and hours looking at the above site. I spent almost 4 hours walking round and photographing Thorpe Marsh Power station before they pulled it down http://www.flickr.com/photos/undergroundhunter/sets/72157627539150960/

Nice photos.

Thanks, there are loads of fascinating places that we all walk/drive past every day and just ignore.

I can relate to that. I've always had a thing about abandoned hospitals and sanatoriums. I don't know why, I just love exploring them. I guess it's because of the sort of books I read and plays I tend to write. Every place I've been to is different and throws up so many different ideas for things.
