Hi team,

Yesterday my bandsaw record Power BS 400 stopped working.
The motor is making a sound but the blade is not moving. I have checked all the usual things like snapped belts etc but a bit stumped in this one?

Can anyone recommend anything / a good company to get it fixed. I am Plymouth based.
Many thanks indeed

Chris

I dont know this model but this is good general info.....
these are very simple machines......if u can fix a bike u can fix these.....except for the electrical....
there really isn't much to go wrong.....
first take the blade off...then pull the covers....
turn the lower wheel and see what turns....
providing the bottom wheel turns the motor the mechanical side should be OK....
now disconnect the drive belt,,,,,and turn the motor on....u may have to close the top cover because of a saftey switch....
now what happens......?
does the motor turn or HUM.....?
Remember there could be saftey cut out switches that stop the motor running when the doors are open....these can be taped up TEMP...
it could be a junk motor or capacitor, the keyway in the pulley torn out etc etc ...
now we need more info.....
