Hi
Has anyone every used one of these or can anyone give me any advice on one, i was thinking of buying this but wanted to know if it was suitable of a single garage workshop and how good it is at filtering the air,
It is speced at 400CFM i know it is important in terms of suction on a dust extractor that requires a min of 800CFM to move fine dust but does it matter when it comes to this,
I was also looking at the Jet AFS-1000B Air Filtration System which at 1000CFM its obviously the better machine however it is twice the price.

I would appreciate any help or advice on any air cleaner. Thanks in advance.

I have one of these and think there pretty good. I put it on timer for an hour or two when I leave to clean the air for the next time I'm in. It is no substitute for collecting dust at source or for not wearing dust protection but it improves the air quality.

Old thread I know but, anyone know of alternatives or better, similar priced, units. Need to clear MDF dust which the chip extractor won't sort - I will need to uprate that as well.

I've got one and it works very well. After 30 mins there is no visible particles in the air when looking in the dark with a torch. As others have said you need decent extraction at source but this is great for filtering the dangerous fine stuff that lingers in the air

Thanks Adam, I need to look the overall dust control problem and the air scrubber is only one part. Going around in circles looking for a better chip extractor, although many just look like the same products with a different badge, the quoted air flow varies so wildly it's impossible to see who's telling the truth and to add a fine dust filter cartridge costs an arm and a leg. Very hard to make a choice.

Thanks for the advice, I've bought one and ordered a Charnwood W691 as well, should be here tomorrow but no fine filter cartridges available until April. The old Charnwood 695 is on the For Sale board.

I've got one as well. Used with extraction it works pretty well to keep the dust down. I too switch it on timer for a hour when I leave the workshop. Mines used in a 5m x 3m space.
