I am having problems tensioning my blades on the BS350,they are the correct size.
The tensioning knob on the top of the machine is very tight to adjust either way so have just taken the top wheel off cleaned all the dust out etc and noticed that all the mechanism is loose and the two nuts in the piccy are also loose.
Can anyone give advice if this is how it should be or what i should do to make adjustment easier.
Cheers :D

Don't know about the nuts, best check the manual. The blade adjuster on my 300E was the same as yours, terrible piece of design IMO. I replaced it with a crank handle and inserted a thrust bearing. Very, very easy to adjust blade tension now.

I got the bearing from Arceurotrade. I made the crank and just used threaded rod for the adjuster. You should be able to buy a crank quite cheap from eBay or one the engineering supply places, maybe Cromwell or RS.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks both :D
Well all seems fine now but i don't know why??
I sprayed the threaded bar with WD40 left it a while and now the tension knob is a lot easier to turn.
I usually just release the blade tension lever at the back to change blades which is what i done in this instance but it just wouldn't tension again and was just going right round, but now is fine??

I like the crank handle idea WP :D
