Recomended moisture content for indoor furniture

Hey all,
I am hoping to find some advice on the recommended moisture content of wood.
I have a slab of maple which I want to make a coffee table from, it has been kiln dried but I fear the seller wasn't entirley honest.
I am going to mesaure its moisture content tomorow, and want to know which number is safe for me to build with.

I live in london and it will be placed in the living room.

Is there any resource I can refer back to, to know which moisture content range is safe for me?

I would aim for 10%

The natural emc range in London is 13-19% (so say US Forestry dept. charts).
If you have climate control, the ball is in your court.

Store the timber in the room for as long as possible before you start.

Check your temperature and RH and this table will tell you were the wood will end up moisture wise alternatively you cant go wrong with Myfordman's approach.

hey guys just checked, the slab ranges from 7.6% - 9% , i tested around 10 points on the wood. Is it safe for me to finish it?
