Hi guys - I am refurbing our kitchen. Maple worktops ( jointed boards) have generally survived 20 years quite well but with some staining around the sink/cooking areas. We are replacing these with granite and will strip/refinish the remaining maple tops. These have been finished/maintained with Danish Oil but this finish has left them 'sticky' and needs to be replaced.

Looking for a satin/matt finish, easy to apply/maintain etc.
Any recommendations?

Fiddes Hardwax Oil is a similar product, which gets if anything slightly higher reviews. I used it on a yew desk for my son, in daily use now for three years and has proved impervious to coffee, wine, whisky etc. I have no experience of using it around a sink, though.

Recently brought both Osmo polyx and Fiddes hardwax oil

I prefer Fiddes, I find it easier to get a better finish.

Still experimenting on the best ways to apply it.

so far i have been applying it with a brush, waiting 10-15mins then wiping off the excess with a lint free cloth.
