Over on the HAND TOOLS FORUM...my dear friend the Professor posted a link to the OLD TOOL STORE website....the shopfront for Ray Iles fantastic tool selection.

How nice it is to see a website with no frills...no brand advertising...no fancy FLASH bangs (he he!)....and just row after row of luvverly tools lined up with a picture and a price and a brief description.

I particularly like the "Add to Toolbox" touch!

Now all I've got to do is work out how to get passed the financial auditor before she finds out I have been treating myself!

Those rosewood London Pattern octagonals look the biz!!

I just bought some chisel handles from the online store.

Good price, fast dispatch...impressed and the handles were excellent

Just looking at them myself. The octagon ones look especially eye catching, then theres the ferrules - ive always needed a place to buy them from. Im tempted to go back for a second look but it could proove costly

Does he still make Pig Sticker Mortice chisels? The only site I've seen them on is in America. Unless they have old stock from when he used to make them I can't think why they aren't available in the uk.

They are still listed on the old site (which is still there!) at £42.50 to £67.00 each. Tools for Working Wood are sole
distributors in the US but not over here. I expect they will appear on the new site some time soon - its chisel selection does look a bit thin.

Thanks. I'm not after some right now but I've always wanted one and it will be nice to know I can get one if I want when income allows.

Nice resource.

I just looked at the pole lathe tools, out of interest. Does anyone know why they would be suitable only for a pole lathe? I'm not thinking of getting any, just wondering.
