Inspired from this movie. > Inspired to post some photos, not to do that.

Some wasted pieces from my father workshop bin. It was cut on Globus saw blades for special purpose(bought 20 years ago, type and name faded)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxfaWC1XmDg

Its waste pieces from my father workshop. Planer, thicknesser and cross saw cuts no finish, no sanding. Its almost mirror surface, you can see different reflection of light on different wood grain hardness density(?)

You could see come saw marks, but surface under fingers is glass smooth.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that system is so ridiculousLy dangerous to attempt. If you want a serious injury, carry on, but please do not encourage anyone else to replicate.

Dangerous gimmick. Not unexpected from John Heisz.

He actually says in the description "In all seriousness, I can't recommend doing this. The table saw is for cutting efficiently to accurate dimensions......". The stupidity of doing that without a riving knife ........ jeez. Don't do this, people, it's idiotic.

I saw that video. Yeah... not recommend. A major benefit of a riving knife is to reduce the chance of material grabbing the saw plate (the knife being thinner than the blade kerf, but thicker than the saw plate). Adding sandpaper to a saw plate must surely increase the risk of material being fired back at the operator, regardless of whether you're using a knife or not.

Heinz "look at this mental use of a table saw" Diresta " look what happens when you use a saw in a normal way but it bites you all the same"

This stuff with sandpaper on blade? We don't do that.
That movie only inspired me to post some photos.

That would work

Every single gadget, push stick, device, jig, storage etc etc etc EXCEPT a riving knife and guard. He gets the Trumpton award. (that's not political...it was a kids TV program in the sixties).

I learnt what a riving knife is for the hard way. Funnily enough, doing exactly what the Youtube guy did with a similar dimension of timber, but without the sandpaper.

And to be clear, I don't think the sandpaper modification would have saved me!

This bloke has a circ saw mounted on an angle grinder ,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox93snKVuaM&t=186s, For me this takes the biscuit making an already dangerous tool absolutely lethal. The problem is that although he is obviously a skilled chippy by sticking video of it on you tube he will encourage others to follow suit. Darwin award in waiting.

Bloke in the UK died from doing that a few years back. It kicked back and cut him in the throat. He was hacking a tree stump.
