Protecting worktop cut outs

Hi all,
I'm planning to replace a length of worktop in our kitchen with some solid wood worktop, probably beech. I plan to protect the surface with Top Oil but was wondering about the cut edges where I let in the sink and hob. Is Top Oil sufficient for these as well or do they need something more being as they will be end grain?

Top oil will be fine but be aware tht the end grain will soak up loads until it is full
