I need to purchase a proffesional power planer, the old one is missing. So can anyone recommend one that's a reasonable price, rebates and is light enough to hold in one hand upside down up a ladder. (the planer's gonna be upside down - not me)

Hi Manny

I also have the Mak, but the 1902, which I bought when I had a lot of doors to sort out.

Whilst I have not used it upside down, or even one-handed, it is a well built piece of kit and I wouldn't have thought that you'd go far wrong.

The acid test has got to be to try one yourself at your local toolstore or B&Q. I bought mine when B&Q were running one of their vat-free/offer days.

Cheers
Neil
