Hi All

Has anyone added a stove to a wooden workshop?

I have just got an a finishing shop built behind my current workshop and I want to put a pot belly stove in it, I want to run the pipe out and up the side of the wall but what do you surround the part of the pipe that goes through the wall in to stop it burning the wall?

cheers

Ian

Where I served my time we hat a pot belly stove. I got to know that stove personally over the years. The workshop was all timber construction, the floor was lagged in asbestolux along with the flue hole, the base was also covered in forged grate. I had that stove glow red in the winter. It was still their when they sold the site for housing development in the late 90's.

Side note, in my fours years of apprenticeship I would not like to guess how much asbestolux I cut for soffits and the like.

Many thanks guys - I have some asbestolux I could use but will look into the double walled pipe tomorrow.

Cheers

Ian
