Any idea why I can't post a link (not to an auction site)?

New members can't post links until they have made three posts. This is a defence against the large number of software bots attempting to spam the site.
Now that you have posted 8 times, you should be able to. Either paste a link which will be automatically formatted, or (in the full editor) use the link button.
