You guessed it TuffSaws!

In anticipation of my new Felder FB510 arriving next week, I have just ordered a good range of blades from Ian.

I sent him a few technical questions to ensure I am not talking out of my kerf when explaining all things bandsaw, his advice was as sharp as his blades. A great company to deal with.

Cheers Peter

Yesterday I replaced one of the bearings (back of blade) that was seized up. Put a brand new m42 tuffsaws on, tensioned, adjusted the other guide bearings close to the blade- just bliss ! I usually find the m42s don't give quite as clean a cut as normal blades, but this one seems absolutely spot on- can't feel where the join is at all.

What swung you to that as opposed to the Aldi? :)

I hadn't spotted the Aldi, I will ring and cancel the Felder in the morning

Cheers Peter
You buy the Felder, I'll buy the Aldi and we can swap. It will save you a lot of hassle and I'll even deliver and collect.

I know you are both joking about the aldi band saw. But TBH the blade supplied isn't half bad. Ok I had never owned a band saw before the aldi but I'm happy

Glynne do Aldi supply the blades, maybe we should swap those as well?

Thanks for helping me out!

Cheers Peter

I have to step in here, before you do something you might regret.

You are going to need Tuffsaw blades to get the best out of the Aldi you just bagged.

You would be crazy to swap blades.

The Aldi + Tuffsaw is the way to go.

That's what I love about this forum, it just helps clarify those all important decisions.
