Hi,

I bought my original superlathe from Poolewood in the early 90's. It is the version with the handwheel speed adjustment.

I am now 81 and don't use it a lot, so I am planning to pass it on to my grandson. I think there is some play in the drive shaft so would like to change all the bearings and drive belt before I hand it over.

Can anyone tell me what bearings are required and where to get them?

Also where can I get a new drive belt?

Are there any issues I should be aware of when attempting this job, I am not an engineer?

Thanks

Jack

The belt and bearing will generally be off the shelf items for some one like Bearing Boys. Both the bearing and the belt will have identification on them bearings will be some thing like 6202-2rs on the bearings, and z270 on the belt which describes the belt section and internal length. If you cannot see the identification just or by sizes.
