Blimey! This woodturning lark dont 'alf empty the deepest pockets. :D

Just thought I would let you know what I have purchased thus far. I had my days tuition with my local pro turner, and a thoroughly good day it was. Did a bit of research, and came up with the following items. Just waiting on the lathe and chuck to arrive. SWMBO talked me out of the Nova lathe, by suggesting I may lose interest......perish the thought! :shock:

I have a metal shed which I plan to use as my workshop, spent last weekend clearing it out. Just about big enough, I tried a little experiment to make sure.......next door neighbours Cat wasn't too impressed though.

Lathe = http://www.poolewood.co.uk/acatalog/Lathe_Fox_F46_719_14__Professional.html

Tools = http://www.poolewood.co.uk/acatalog/Sorby_Woodturning_Starter_Set.html

Grinder = http://www.poolewood.co.uk/acatalog/Perform_CCBDLG_Grinders.html

Chuck = http://www.poolewood.co.uk/acatalog/Fox_Chucks.html

BTW, I am planning on doing some pen turning. I have bought a few packs of blanks and also a Dvd by Paul Loseby. It hasn't arrived yet, but I was wondering if I will need to purchase additional tools, or will I be able to use my existing ones? (probably not the roughing gouge though, eh ) :wink:

PS I forgot, I also ordered: "Conversion and Seasoning of Wood: A Guide to Principles and Practice" William H. Brown
