If i were to make a outdoor wendy house/ play house what wood would i use? I reckon i can build it with help of course from friends but i havnt a clue which wood to use inside and outside if you built one what wood did you use id rather be told what to use than having to decide as im an amature at all this also are there any detailed free building plans? thanks in advance.

I built a wendy house for my daughter about ten years ago. For the sides that could be seen I used T&G and for the sides that were hidden I used plywood. Makes it quicker and easier to construct.

They are not free but there is a couple of plans on www.plansnow.com at $10 which i assume is around £5-7, I dont think there that expensive. I bought a couple of plans when I first started and they are very good, easy to follow plans. Though you do need to work in inches!

It's really a small shed, with some pretty details, so you could either use exterior ply or make up panels of the sort of reasonably durable wood sold for fencing, eg Larch. The usual shed principles would apply - have some sort of hard base to stop damp rising (a cast concrete plinth, or slabs laid on sand over polythene) and keep the top dry with a properly felted roof. (You can get roofing felt cut into decorative shapes, which might be suitable.)
