Designed by someone who has obviously never used a hand plane.

Presumably it would only give a "true" reading, if the sole was absolutely flat and then, so what...?

Probably now working on another gadget to tell you if you're standing out in the rain. Perhaps Rutlands will let us know how many of these things they have sold.
