I'm making a few medium sized pictures frames and was wondering if anyone had a preferred supplier for the white mats and the tape to attach the picture to it.

Saw a few online places but not many reviews on the quality.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks.

I pick up mine on-line from DIY Framing UK. Always very prompt. I use their "General Purpose Masking Tape" to make the hinges for the mat to the foam core. I use the ECO craft paper for sealing the back of the frame. I prefer photo corner pockets to hold the picture in rather than taping the picture itself. If it's a fine art print or a valuable painting or whatever make sure you use get the acid free mat and foam core.

Thank you very much for responding with the recommendations and tips, Paul. I really appreciate it.

I’ve used Lion a few times and everything so far has seemed good quality, but I’m very much an amateur picture framer, so take that with a pinch of salt.

Having exchanged a couple of messages with @bp122 I made a frame and videoed it to show the overall process. No claims this is the best or only way to do it but it’s the way I do it as a hobbyist at home using general hand tools. Of course you can substitute power tools or specialist tools like a frame trimmer.

What an amazing instruction video!

Paul, this video is so precisely what I needed it of my query. Everything is shown and explained in a neat and concise way without confusing a newbie like me.

Now I know what goes into this, I can plan my project according to the time, skill and tools available.

I can't thank you enough!

Best regards
Bharath
