Perfume Atomiser

I bought a few atomiser kits from Turners Retreat but there are no instructions with them and I can't for the life of me find any online. It seems to be fairly straightforward except for this bit:

Can anyone offer any clues on how it fits into the equation?

the spring steel goes inside the finished case after it is turned and assembled to hold the bottle in place if it is the one Im thinking of as the picture dont show all of the components

Thanks Woody, I assumed it was something like that, but I had got it into my head it was to keep the cap in place! The kit is the standard Axminster one, so I think you are correct. Cheers!
