Having recently acquired an iPad I have been looking at Password Managers.

The ability to generate strong passwords & ability to save items like Passports etc appeals.

I am leaning towards 1 Password except it does not seem to be able to cope with UK Banks that require username, all or random parts of a password & memorable data.

So I have two questions:
1. Has anyone used 1 Password successfully with UK Banks similar to what I have described?
2. Can you recommend a safe alternative product?

I doubt you'll find anything to do what you want. It doesn't prevent you using a password manager though. You'll just have to type or paste the characters yourself. Using a password manager is safer than writing passwords down. You will probably be able to copy & paste the words into the entry fields which guards against key loggers.

I have not found one that works with the bank entries, but I use Lastpass which does everything else that I require. I have just made a manual entry into Lastpass of my Bank info. which I read before logging on to the Bank website. A bit clunky but I don't have to use it often enough for it to be an annoyance.

Like Seagoon, I also use Lastpass which doesn't deal with the partial/random entry fields, I use the secure note feature to store those.

Make up your own using the names of people or incidents/holidays from your past. I have about 40 plus passwords that I use on various things from banks to forums to tool sites, some now defunct of course. I can change and alternate at will without any stress or strain. I keep a list in a word document with hints that no one will ever work out but that are obvious to me.

Someones full name and a birth date make an excellent password for instance: Dad's friend the window cleaner veras favourite grandsons birthday = tonybirstow19. Even if I forget it the hint makes it instantly known to me only.

I have used Scarabay for years. Multiple users each with their own password to open it up, virtual keyboard so no keylogging. Has worked with all my bank accounts.
