I haven't had this long, just weeks. I think it's just a connection prob in the switch. A few times I have had to flick it off and on more than once to get it going.

Today it won't come on at all.

I know the guarantee is good and the store is just down the road. I have to go for bannannas anyway :)

I was all set to get the 1500 model on Thur, now I am reconsidering.

Maybe I should spend a bit more.?

FWIW, I've a Sealey vac I bought from benchwayze about a year ago. It's been faultless so far and it's had some abuse on site.

i would go for it and try it. If it is no better than this one, i.e. faulty, then you can just return it. I have had one for several years and it works very well.

Presently abusing the 1500W one I have with all sorts of nasty things (plaster, lime mortar, cement and brick dust). It's doing OK so far.

I use the power take-off with a belt sander and a big orbital one. It's not bad, but the small hose intended for power tools reduces the suck significantly. I think it's better to use the big hose and reduce at the far end only.

If 'twas me, I'd take the faulty one back and try the bigger one.

Big one will be available here on Thur, so intending to get one of those.

I could get a bosch GAS 1200L new in box but not from a retailer for £85.

Has anyone any experience with them.?

Took it into the local store today, but was told since I had it more than 60 days they could not refund. The gave me a free phone customer care number which I later phoned.

They told me to send a copy of the receipt, model and serial number, where and when bought along with my name and address and description of the fault, by either snail or email and they would send a replacement.

I scanned the receipt and emailed it with the other details.

Received a reply promptly, advising me to expect satisfaction in up to 28 days excluding bank holidays.

Don't suppose I can complain about that, except I would have preferred a refund and spent it on the larger one tomorrow.

It took them a few days more than the 28 stated but true to their word, they sent a brand new replacement, with instructions to, if satisfied with the replacement, dispose of the old one as I see fit.

I now have 4 functioning dust capturing devices in "the shop". Big change from last year when I didn't have any.

Ya can't fault Lidl/Parkside for returns, I contacted them about a scrollsaw which has a bent arm (it was brand new) like yourself they asked for copies of the serial number etc and they sent me another brand new and said i could keep the old one! I made a sander out of it as the motor was very good and even had speed controller.
I bought a new shop vac this week from Argos its a 1500w Einhell and identical to the lidl parkside one but cost a bit more (fed up of waiting for Lidl to get more of theirs)
Cheers
Brian
