Someone recommended Parcel Monkey to me. So I books a collection and pays for it. Then you get the web page with the 'sting in the tail'.

"All items must be in a cardboard box. The collection driver may refuse to take the parcel if the item is not in a cardboard box but you will still be charged".

Anyone prepared to take the risk? I wasn't. So now I am waiting for my refund.

However, their customer support is all done by 'support tickets'. Which never get updated.

So digging around their website, it then starts to get confusing. For example, they say they will deliver a wardrobe. Que? That's one helluva big cardboard box. Impossible to get any clarification.....see above 'which never get updated'.

I will be sticking to Myparceldelivery.com in future.

ParcelMonkey are bananas. I definitely went apeshit. (Thought I'd get in the more obvious puns first 8) )

Bet they use a lot of Gorilla glue to fix broken parcels!

Monkeybusiness might be a better name for their service!

Corporate song probably....we are the CHIMPions

Just off for me coat--------------------->

I'm fairly sure I know what a cardboard box is, so the service would appear to be usable for a large class of items.

i used to use parcel2go, but got sick of the lack of customer service. I have gone direct to myhermes for the last 50 or so parcels- it seems more straightforward. based purely on weight categories (as long as below a maximum overall soze), rather than having to measure everything which is a pain if you want to book things, then wrap them. And there is no surcharge for paypal, which P2G added 2% on for.

If anything is a bit unusual in size or weight i would use a broker, but for now it is myhermes.

Not sure if you are deliberately being obtuse or just trolling.

Or have simply missed my point. If they had said upfront that items should be in a cardboard box then one need not have wasted any more time with them. Capisce?

The problem with myherpes is they do not have local vans or drivers that are employed direct by them. Some drivers are ok but a lot are not plus after they pick up your package it goes home with them and stays in there uninsured car over night, if it’s still there in the morning and they get out of bed in time it may get to the depot in time. The only good thing is when they lose your package or sell it down the pub myherpes will always pay up. The other problem is at the other end and the driver has had enough and wants to go home and you get the package returned. If you want a cheap service and do not care if it takes a long time to get there or not at all then they are ok, if you want a very good service then UPS using interparcel is the one i use every week.

I just don't see the problem with putting stuff in a cardboard box. It seems simple enough, and (obviously) from their POV means that all items are of a uniform packing type.

Still missing the point or just trolling as per usual.

If I'm missing your point, perhaps you should just clarify or rephrase ? I genuinely don't understand what your problem with cardboard boxes is.

Thanks Marcros. I also have already said

"If they had said upfront that items should be in a cardboard box then one need not have wasted any more time with them". Especially if it is a large item. Or even if you didn't have any cardboard boxes.

I won't go anywhere near them now. I used to use them a lot until one delivery.
I tracked it on the website, .
First day - out for delivery.
Second day - Customer not in - redelivery scheduled for tomorrow.
Third day- Customer signed for package.

One week later, I got an email from the customer asking where the item was.
Contacted ParcelMonkey (using the frankly useless ticket system) to request confirmation of signature.
Their reply was that they'd have to get in touch with the courier.
Contacted them again the next day for an update.
They replied that the parcel had been returned to the depot (bear in mind the system says it's been delivered and signed for).
Asked them what the hell was going on, and was told they would try to trace the parcel, but in the meantime I would be contacted by the manager of the depot (Never heard from him/her).

This went on for a week and a half, Paypal witheld the money, and eventually refunded the customer.
I was offered a refund by Parcelmonkey for the delivery cost as I had failed to submit proof of the receipt for the item, stating its value.
I was never asked to do so, but did state the value when placing the order.
Long story slightly less long, and item I sold for £90 cost me £10 to post, and I received a £9 odd refund, and the item disappeared into thin air, apparently.
Absolute robbing ba$tards.

Adam.

Getting back to myHerpes her indoors arranged a collection with them on Friday thinking they may have got better, lots of phone calls later they have said they will get it collected within the next 24 hours. So when parcel monkey get this bad then start complaining.
