I made some floating shelves for the kitchen from redwood a year or so ago, putting them up unfinished. It looked good for a couple of months but soon attracted all manner of grime and I've decided to go for a different look. The other day I took them down and gave them a coat of white chalk paint and today I'm going to sand them back a little and give 'em another coat.
Google told me that a polyurethane finish would be good for protecting the chalk paint, but may yellow over time. I've considered buying some minwax, but I have some Osmo 3065 spare from past box making projects, does anyone know if it will be ok to finish these shelves?
Thanks!
