Just putting the finishing touches to a sash window that I've refurbished. I want to put some lift hardware on the lower sash, but want them to be flush with the sash, so that they don't interfere with the blind that will be installed.

I've found a few things named "recessed sash lifts" on ebay, but all are shipping from the USA:

Looked at flush pull handles like this:

https://www.doorhandlecompany.co.uk/her ... ze--16696/

Also seen wide selection of flush ring pulls - I was thinking to try one of these, but wouldn't want the ring pull to break off under a force it's not deisgned for:

Anyone got any experience of fitting/choosing something like this?

I had lots single finger ring pulls as draw and draw pulls, they where very strong no problems with them at all. In fact I still have them (about 15) somewhere in the shed.

I've personally never put any handles on my sash windows, there's usually enough meat on the meeting rail to pull up the sash easily.

I can't see why the ones designed for sliding doors wouldn't work so long as you've got enough timber to be able to put it in tidily, Ironmongery does supply them quite cheap compared to door handle company. If you need a smaller one I would personally ask https://www.marchesironmongery.co.uk/ as they have a better selection of higher quality stock and if they don't have one in stock they will find one for you somewhere and the customer service is second to none.

The ring pulls would also work without fault as there should be very little stress on the pull itself if the window has been balanced correctly, unless it's one of the reaaaaaalllyyy old pegged sash windows without the pulleys and weights.
