Olympic cycling

Me and my eldest son were lucky enough to watch the cycling today. We watched it just down the road from us in Walton on Thames. Amazing experience thousands of people lining the route. My wife dropped us off within a short walk as she didnt want to watch it but when she saw all the people walking there she changed her mind and wanted to be part of it all . Luckily she found a parking space over the river and managed to get over with my other son to see the bikes come through.

I only took videos of the cyclists and don't know how to post them but here is a couple of photos of all the people in the second one is my eldest son he loved it.

Last year we went and watched the Tour de France when it came through our closest town, about 3 miles away, and it was a fantastic experience. The Oly road race must have been the same and I'm glad your wife enjoyed it too!

Your lad looks like the cat who just found a cream factory!

How long did it take for the cyclists to go by?

It was funny actually as we heard the cheering then the first lot came through and it seemed ages before the peloton passed and then in seconds they were all gone. Then all the BMW estates with all the spares flew past all cutting each other up utter caos . This was followed by more police, ambulances , press etc etc.

A real fun day out . I'm not really into road cycling more mountain biking myself but still enjoyable to be there.
