Olive ash ovoid forms

Hello folks

I've been enjoying making more ovoid forms since the last spalted beech one I posted- Its strange that for such a simple form I'm finding it a real challenge to get right!! I've made about a dozen now- here are a couple which I think are o.k.

5 1/2" wide by 5 5/8" tall

5 3/8" wide by 5 3/4" tall

Yep, I would say they are pretty much right George, very good in fact !

Surprisingly difficult to get the curves and flow just right, so reassured that it takes you a few goes too

George ,I would agree with what Paul has said about having trouble getting your shapes right . :lol:
Its an inspiration to me when someone like you has these problems and aidmits to it . =D>i
We/I assume that you have non of these problems and just put on the piece of wood and Voila a hollow form appears "just like that" Thanks George.

Are you still using the Firmager tools to hollow??

I think they look stunning; but then again I'm a sucker for ash heartwood

however I see oval rather than ovoid...

Hi Paul-I still use the firmager angle tool sometimes but more often i use the mini munroe(if it will fit) or the oland style home made tools
