Making an old style tool chest from an old mahogany display cabinet that was going to scrap
Knocked apart unit flattened boards by hand and cut off machine dovetails marked out for hand cut dovetails.Plans was down loaded from website but sizes modified as limited timber . And there was a rebate on the unit so infilled with timber and put on the inside of the unit . Made top of mahogany with a pine infill with a outer frame fitted to edge to actual form a dust edge for the lid to shut on. Now making the inner 3 draws which slide on timber runners old school ,but out of pine and plywood bottoms . Also a saw till for me saws .

Reminds me of my dad's. He made it from pitch pine, everything fitted out inside. Always remember the amazing smell when to opened the lid, mixture of the wood, oil and banrust paper.
