Feel a bit silly asking this on a woodworking forum but wondering if anyone here might know a thing or two about electronics? Or direct me to a good UK electronics forum?
I have a vintage Yamaha B-4CR organ thats making excessive humming noise.
cheers

humming will be capacitors on the PSU board failing (edit, sorry power supply). they can be changed out buy someone with a bit of intelligence.
Yamaha electronic organs and pianos are known for it. (MIL had a piano that did it).

my dad is an organist, if a capacitor is blown then it is pretty obvious, but getting inside can be a pain, he had an electronics engineer mate repair them when anything went wrong, it's probably age related, capacitors don't last forever, solder joints can fail over time as well, this sort of thing happens with old guitar amps which I have repaired by replacing old caps with new higher spec ones.

I'd recommend the forum groupdiy.com and go to 'the lab' section, loads of people who know what they're doing over there!
