Ready to install the replacement pulley on the motor drive shaft as only a small fixed temp one there now. Speed lever won't move so expect I'll have to remove the other pulley, clean and check that one to see if it's OK.
Anyone got any tips for the job or what to look out for please.

Here are 2 videos with a demo of how to strip these down.

I would imagine you could try moving the speed handle so the push-plate goes back. Then you should be able to push the back pulley to make more space for the belt to drop down the gap and release the tension.

If this doesn't work you could try to remove the belt - like the way the person does in the video.

Otherwise, try removing the C clip on the end of the pully shaft with the large and edge the front pulley forward, off the front end.
