Overhauling our home office and bought some oak worktop to tart up an ikea desk setup, but deliberately oversized to give me enough for these coat hook… boards? Plaques? Plinths?! whatever! And a shoe rack.

Shoe rack made of reclaimed pine and some Freecycled chair legs. Reminded me I hate chiselling mortices! And also that whilst I think the finished effect is good, painting something with many slats is a royal PITA.

Thankfully the oak for the hooks and rack were just manoeuvrable enough to run through the table saw for the long bevels. The desktop, not so much, so my poor little cheapo palm router struggled away with a chamfer bit, but got there in the end.

It was inspired by this from John Lewis btw. Ugly screws showing!
