Nice bit of quarter sawn white oak. Measures about 13".

Must have been a thumping tree if that's a piece of quarter sawn.

Nice join - is that your work, or did you get it like that?

I did it. Had a six ft ish board managed to get 3 big blanks like this and 3 small ones

that's a nice one me old mate but would have liked to see some decoration on the bottom a nice lump of timber Be Back On The Lathe Soon so I got a piece of brown oak I acquired that am going to make a bowl out of just hope it turns out as nicely grained as this one
