Hi Guys,

I've got some new full lengths of oak block worktops, slightly damaged for free from my local kitchen supplier.
One thing I intend making from them is chopping blocks / boards.
My question is after sanding what would I finish it with for food safety.

Cheers John.

You’ll get a hundred different answers, watch out! I used food safe/grade mineral oil. Was about £5-£10 for 500ml which would cover many many chopping boards.

What he said.

I have some bits too from renovating our kitchen, I'd love to see your end results so I can steal your ideas.

I mean, get inspiration....

I'm sure this has been covered recently. I would not put anything on a cutting board. I sand mine smooth and give a wipe or scrub clean after being used.
If you use them for a worksurface then Danish Oil is my go to finish.
