Thought I would just do this post, more in astonishment than any thing else.
Last week there was a post about buying stuff in the USA - happens now and again. I put my tuppence in as I spend half my life over here and frequently buy bits and bobs stateside. At the moment though the exchange rate doesn't make it viable.

Anyway needed to buy some sandpaper - about $500 worth - and some other stuff for the boat. Guess where was cheapest, Rockler-nop, woodcraft-nope maybe Home Depot - err no. Axminster - quite a bit cheaper - delivery was $15 and it took from Friday morning until Tuesday afternoon to get to Annapolis.

Cost more and took longer to get a ladder delivered from Home Depot which is just on the outskirts of town.

Not too shabby, but some years ago I ordered something from Japan and it was on my doormat within 48hrs - Rob
