Pretty sure I've seen this before on here but I enjoyed it again so I thought it was worth re posting. Filmed in 2013 according to the info panel. He's getting on for 70 now and according to Google is worth $2.5 million, which I'm surprised at. He says he did over 30 years of This Old House and over 20 NYW. You'd think he'd have a bit more than that in the bank.
Enjoy.

I put in 50 years of hard graft and havent got a tenth of that. He's done better than I did.

Fantastic post, i agree with lurker. Not my style, but it was his shows on TLC (i think Sky used to call it that in late 90's) that made me interested and then understand how it can all go together. I still construct drawers the same way as he does, even though i now know loads of other ways. My workshop is now just as kitted out as his, the machines aren't the full industrial version but i have everything i need. I have every video of the NYW and i watch them back sometimes. He is a big influence on me, my kids still make jokes that i should be in a plaid shirt when i'm in the workshop.
I especially love the bit on the London version of This Old House, i'm in the Biz and i recall watching it and thinking that was a load of BS, especially the planning bit where they were surprised that couldnt raise the roof in the middle of London, ya right that was a F'in surprise!!!!. He speaks about it in the video and its one view of British construction industry which is so warped. I suppose it fits with the limey version of events. But worth a watch if your a Norm fan. I've never seen it before and i was glued. (forgive the pun)

He's very good but too much machine work for me, but I did enjoy the beginning of the episode when he arrived in London wearing a bowler hat to check out a park bench he was about to make.
