I haven't anywhere to use wedges on the existing arbor, and from what I've watched possibly the easiest way to remove it is the drill the bottom of the chuck. Has anyone done this?

I'll answer my own question - it's perfectly easy. The bit will snatch as it breaks through, but only a small hole is needed to knock the arbor out. I used a screw.
