newbie question

hi all

how much wastage should i expect from square to round please ?
2" square i guess should create a 2" round ...what will i really get ?

How much you lose depends on two things - how accurate you are at marking the centres and how much you need to remove to produce a clean surface from what can be a rough sawn blank.

expecting to get a 2" round from a 2" square is probably being a little optimistic but with care and a good blank, you should be within 1/16"
