The trouble, as they're fond of pointing out on the property porn shows, is that some buyers lack the imagination to see through superficial cosmetic issues to recognise the true potential in fixer-uppers...

That said, he'd have to pay me more than his starting offer before I'd take it off his hands.

ah yes, don't you worry, there have been some additions to the Blu-Tak brigade since the last auction.

To be honest I think people were so blown away by the quality of the workmanship that they were unable to bid.

Hmmm.....one careful owner. The rest were lunatics.

There's probably a translation for the phrases used in the description. For example, "In used condition" translates as, "It's a good job the woodworms are holding hands."
