New (Un Treated) Oak Sleepers?

Hi all

with the rise in lumber prices, have been looking at green oak in form of sleepers. They are 20cm x 10cm 2.4m long

im in no rush to build anything but would it be more trouble than it’s worth to get my hands on some?

then Bandsaw in half to 5cm thickness and leave to dry for maybe around a year?

It's usually converted to sleepers in the first place because that's all it's good for.
