I have not used the course adjustment when used in table, but I do use it nearly all the time out of the table - I would really miss it now I have tried it.
In table I tend to just use the winder handle, it is a bit on the slow side for bit changes but not to the point where it has become annoying - yet! For bit height adjustment for cutting it is superb, soooo much easier than the rubbish thing I just burned out
