Hi everyone, new member just joined the forum, i'm Mike, i will be starting a new project in a couple of weeks, i'm also a railway modeller( i can hear you laughing at the back there) , the project i will be doing is a new design of space saving baseboards, don't have much work space a small shed 10' x 5' so most of the work will be outside, in the process of clearing it out ready, i'm a chippy by trade, doing general house bashing, a bit of site work, and quite a lot of shopfitting, i am looking at getting a new table saw next week, i have been researching and with my budget and space available i have opted to get a scheppach hs105, i know through looking around the forums that the majority of people would recommend going used for a better machine, and i have looked, but my problem is travelling to collect, i know that i could use a courier but that would involve buying blind, so for me going new is my only option, maybe over time i can upgrade or not if it proves itself, well i guess that is enough earbashing for now, i looked to find a welcome area, so i apologise if this is in the wrong place, cheers,

Mike.

Hi and welcome. Pretty sure there's lots of people on here who share your hobby. I take my young lad up to a big local shed on the occasional Sunday where there's a bunch of guys doing it. It's really impressive and they are a right friendly bunch. All sitting round smoking and drinking cups of tea as loads of kids troop past lol. Old school doesn't quite cover it. I think these guys built the school. :D

Thanks for the welcome, sadly i don't have the oppertunity to go to any meets as such, it's just a hobby to give me something to do, and keep my mind occupied,

Welcome to the asylum Mike and there's nowt wrong with Railway Modelling! I'm a qualified Bonsai Lumberjack 9-)

Cheers
Brian

Welcome Mike, I used to work in a model shop many many moons ago for my sins, loved it.

Hi thanks for the welcomes, yes Phil i did and still do have my Minolta, it's the 505si super, but since then i have upgraded to a Panasonic FZ45 use that for everyday stuff and videos, and i have a Nikon D3200 which i use for weddings and portrait work, cheers,
Mike.

I still use mine occasionally but only for B&W, as i develop my own, and use a scanner to copy the image, or atleast i did till the all in one printer/scanner packed up,
